Interviewer: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Let's start with a little about your background. You were born and raised in Vietnam, correct?
Cindy Starfall: Yes, that's right. I was born and raised in Vietnam.
Interviewer: And you came to the United States for your studies?
Cindy Starfall: I did. My family has businesses in Vietnam and they were incredibly supportive in sending me to America when I was 15 years old to pursue my education.
Interviewer: You then went on to get a business degree and worked in the corporate world for a time. What led you to seek a different path?
Cindy Starfall: After finishing my business degree, I did have a corporate job. But honestly, I reached a point where I felt a bit bored with the routine. I had this desire for something more adventurous, something different. I wanted to meet new people and experience new places.
Interviewer: And that desire for something different led you to the adult entertainment industry. Could you tell us a bit about how that transition happened?
Cindy Starfall: It's actually quite a story! It was almost serendipitous. On a night when I was feeling particularly restless and wanting a change, I was approached by an executive. He ended up putting me in Hustler magazine, and from there, an agency found me. So, in a way, the adult entertainment industry found me. It felt like a happy ending to my search for something new.
Interviewer: That's a fascinating story. Now, looking back at your upbringing, you mentioned attending Catholic school and having strict parents. Do you feel that those experiences had any influence on the choices you've made in your adult life, including your career?
Cindy Starfall: Absolutely, I do. I believe my Catholic school education instilled a strong sense of discipline in me. And with my strict upbringing, I learned the value of hard work and that you have to earn what you want in life. I don't subscribe to the idea that things should just be handed to you. I got to where I am through dedication and effort; I certainly didn't get here by being lazy.
Interviewer: That's a strong work ethic.
Cindy Starfall: It is. There's a saying, "Entrepreneurs work 80 hours a week to avoid working 40 hours, 9-to-5 for someone else," and I truly believe that. I find more fulfillment and happiness working for myself, even with longer hours, than I ever did working for a company where I didn't feel a strong sense of purpose.
Interviewer: You mentioned starting as a webcam model while still working your corporate job. Was entering the adult entertainment industry as a glamour model a deliberate goal, or did your transition into porn happen more organically?
Cindy Starfall: It was quite organic, actually. I started webcam modeling at night as a side thing while I still had my normal corporate job during the day. Then, when I was recruited for more mainstream adult work, I decided to go into it full swing. Honestly, I never initially thought I could make a career out of it. My initial motivation was very practical – I wanted to pay off my student loans. Within a year of saving up from my work in the adult industry, I was able to become debt-free, which is something that can take people many years after graduating. However, I genuinely enjoy my job, which is why it has become the longest job I've ever held.
Interviewer: That's an impressive financial achievement in a short amount of time. When did you decide to share this career path with your parents and friends? What was their reaction?
Cindy Starfall: I actually didn't tell my parents directly. They found out on their own. And, as expected with traditional Asian culture, they were not supportive. But I've reached a point in my life where I understand that I can't change everyone's opinion about me or my industry. I've decided to just be myself. I don't drink much, I don't do drugs, and as long as I know I love my job and I'm saving money while doing it, then the only person I need to answer to and prove myself to is me.
Interviewer: That's a very strong and independent stance. Do you remember your first scene in the adult film industry?
Cindy Starfall: Yes, I do. It was for Reality King’s “Happy tug.” I was definitely nervous but also excited at the same time. I was particularly worried about my accent and how that would be perceived. I also didn't really know what a typical porn scene was like. But after the set, the director told me I did an amazing job, and that made me feel really happy and reassured. Plus, the added bonus was… well, I got to orgasm while working!
Interviewer: That sounds like a memorable first experience! Looking back on your work so far, what would you say is your most memorable performance?
Cindy Starfall: I truly love every scene from my award-winning showcase movie “Starfall.” It was sexy, it was messy, and it really showed how wild I can be. That project holds a special place for me.
Interviewer: With the accessibility of online platforms like PornHub, do you ever read comments about your work?
Cindy Starfall: No, I actually don’t. I’m often so busy, whether it’s traveling on a plane for my next feature or a dancing gig, or producing my own content. I simply don’t have the time to read other people’s comments about whether or not they think I’m sexy. I’ve learned not to pay attention to internet trolls, and I think that’s advice everyone should take. I see so many girls get caught up in other people’s opinions when it really serves no purpose in their own lives.
Interviewer: Let's talk a bit about the physical aspects of the industry. What are your views on boob jobs and other surgical enhancements, and have you ever considered any for yourself?
Cindy Starfall: When I first entered the porn industry, I actually had people telling me that I couldn’t be successful without getting a boob job. My immediate reaction was to tell them to "fuck off" because I am who I am. I don’t want to look like every other girl out there. I believe I have my own unique appeal and my own market. So, no, I have never considered getting a boob job or any other surgical enhancements. I've been in the industry for six years staying all natural, and I intend to remain that way. Why mess with perfection?
Interviewer: That's a very confident and refreshing perspective. On a lighter note, you have a noticeably beautiful physique. Many would love to know, particularly about your figure – do you have a specific routine in the gym to maintain it?
Cindy Starfall: (Laughs) Well, thank you! I do incorporate a lot of squats into my workouts. I also walk up a lot of stairs whenever I can. For me, it really comes down to consistently working out. I'm not a fan of the fake butt implant look, you know? While it might look perfect, I don’t think it feels perfect. I much prefer a natural butt and generally appreciate curvy girls.
Interviewer: That's a very insightful perspective. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Cindy Starfall: Thank you for having me.
